This Privacy Policy explains how AutoCreation Studio LLC ("AutoCreation Studio," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Unreel Recipes mobile application (the "App"). Unreel Recipes turns cooking videos from TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube into structured recipes you can save, edit, and share with friends.

Delete your UnReel Recipes account
- In the App: Open Settings → Delete Account & Data to permanently delete your account and associated data immediately.
- Without the App: Email support@autocreation.studio from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my UnReel Recipes account." We will complete verified requests within 30 days.
Deletion covers your Supabase account, cloud recipes, profile, friendships, shares, credits, usage records, avatar, and account-linked device data. Limited de-identified analytics and records required for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or store-payment obligations may be retained as described below. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; subscriptions must be canceled through the applicable store.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the App. Concretely:
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information. When you create an account we receive your email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we also receive the name and email that you choose to share with us through that provider's consent screen.
- Profile information. When you join the Friends feature, you choose a handle (e.g.
@yourname), a display name, and optionally an avatar image. This profile is visible to other signed-in users so they can find you and send friend requests. - Recipe content. Any recipe you save — including the source video URL, ingredients, instructions, cooking times, tags, and edits you make — is associated with your account.
- Friend connections and shares. When you accept a friend or share a recipe, we store the connection and a point-in-time copy ("snapshot") of the recipe you sent. The snapshot is not updated if you later edit the original.
- Support correspondence. If you email us, we keep your message and reply.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Usage analytics. We use PostHog to record product events such as extractions started, ads watched, purchases attempted, paywalls viewed, and friend invites redeemed. After sign-in, these events use a random account identifier so we can understand how features perform. We do not send PostHog your email address, name, recipe content, friend handle, or payment details.
- Device and diagnostic data. Our analytics SDK and the platform stores (Apple App Store, Google Play) receive standard technical signals such as app version, OS version, device model, and crash data.
- Ad-related data. We show ads through Google AdMob to users on the free, ad-supported tier. AdMob may receive ad-request signals such as the ad unit, IP address, device and app information, and a resettable advertising identifier when the operating system and your choices permit it. On iOS, the App uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before Google requests access to the advertising identifier. You may decline. We request only non-personalized ads; Google states that such ads may still use an identifier for frequency capping, fraud prevention, and aggregate reporting. The App does not request location permission or send precise device location to AdMob.
- Local-only data. Your full recipe collection is stored on-device in the App's private SQLite database. Anonymous-session identifiers and pending friend-invite codes are stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore via Expo SecureStore).
We request access to your photo library only if you choose to select an optional profile avatar. We do not request permission to access your camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, or push notifications.
1.3 Anonymous sessions
The App creates an anonymous account on first launch so you can use it immediately without signing up. Anonymous accounts have the same on-device data layout as signed-in accounts but no email, profile, or Friends access. If you later sign in, we migrate your anonymous recipes to your authenticated account.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate the core App features — recipe extraction, sync, favourites, friends, sharing, search.
- Process in-app purchases and apply entitlements (Premium subscription, credit packs).
- Cap free-tier usage (e.g. daily extraction limit, daily ad-reward limit).
- Send recipe shares between users who have accepted each other as friends.
- Understand how features are used so we can fix bugs and improve the App.
- Respond to your support requests.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your recipe content to train machine-learning models.
3. Recipe extraction and third-party video sources
When you submit a TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube URL for extraction, the App or our backend will:
- Fetch the publicly available video page or captions from the relevant platform.
- For TikTok and Instagram, use a third-party scraping service (Apify) to retrieve captions and metadata.
- For YouTube, retrieve the public caption track directly.
- Send the resulting text (and, in some cases, a short audio/video excerpt) to Google's Gemini model for structured recipe parsing.
The URL you submit and the extracted text are processed for the purpose of producing your recipe and are not used by us for advertising. The third-party platforms whose URLs you submit operate under their own terms and privacy policies; please review those before submitting content.
4. Service providers and data recipients
We share information with the following categories of service providers, only for the purposes listed:

Google's regional consent message displays the current ad-technology partner list and lets you consent, decline, or manage partners and purposes where required. That list is maintained in our AdMob account and may change when Google updates its commonly used partner set. The partner count shown in that message is the number of disclosed advertising vendors, not a count of users, records, or people whose data we hold.
We do not provide your account information, recipe content, friend data, or PostHog analytics profile to these advertising partners for their own marketing.
5. Your friends and what other users can see
- Your profile (handle, display name, optional avatar) is visible to any signed-in user so that friends can find you by handle.
- Your recipe collection, your favourites, and your edits are private unless you explicitly send a recipe to a friend.
- When you send a recipe to a friend, a snapshot of that recipe at the time of sending is delivered to their account. They can save it to their own collection. They cannot see future edits you make to the original.
- You can remove a friend at any time; their previously received snapshots remain in their collection.
6. Your choices and rights
You can:
- Update your profile in the App at any time.
- Sign out from Settings. After sign-out, your recipes remain stored locally on the device.
- Restore purchases from Settings if you reinstall the App on a new device.
- Delete your account and associated data from Settings → Delete Account & Data. This permanently removes your Supabase account, cloud recipes, profile, friendships, shares, credits, usage records, avatar, and the recipes and pending work stored locally on that device. A fresh empty guest session starts afterward so the App remains usable. Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription; subscriptions must be managed through the applicable store.
- Revoke Sign in with Apple access, if applicable, after deleting your account by opening iOS Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple → UnReel Recipes → Stop Using Apple ID. The App shows this reminder immediately after deletion.
- Request access to your data by emailing support@autocreation.studio from the email address on your account. We will respond within 30 days.
- Decline advertising tracking on iOS in Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt or later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Review or withdraw regional ad consent through Settings → Ad Privacy Choices whenever Google requires that entry point.
- Reset or delete your Android advertising ID through Android's privacy or ads settings. Menu names vary by Android version and device maker.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (EEA/UK) or the CCPA/CPRA (California): the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us at the address above.
7. Data retention
- Account, profile, recipes, friends, shares, credits, usage records, and avatars are retained for as long as your account exists. Using Delete Account & Data removes this information immediately, except where we are required to retain limited records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
- Local on-device data (SQLite, SecureStore) is removed when you use Delete Account & Data or uninstall the App.
- Analytics events are retained per PostHog's standard retention policy. Account deletion removes the account record that connected the random analytics identifier to your account; retained analytics do not contain your email address, name, recipe content, friend handle, or payment details.
- Purchase records are retained as required by Apple and Google.
8. Security
We use TLS in transit, encryption at rest for our cloud database, and the platform's secure storage for sensitive client-side values (auth tokens, invite codes). No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
9. Children
Unreel Recipes is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
We are based in the United States and our service providers may operate in the United States and other countries. By using the App you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions whose data-protection laws differ from those of your country.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, we will surface a notice in the App. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
